Ingredients
- 12 ounces broccoli
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Method
- Using a sharp knife, separate the broccoli top and cut into florets. Peel away the tough outer skin from the stalk and cut the stalk into bite-sized pieces.
- Heat the oil in a medium sauté pan over medium heat. Add the broccoli in an even layer, cover and cook, turning every 3 or 4 minutes, until tender. Remove the broccoli to a serving platter. In the same pan, melt the butter and once sizzling, pour over the broccoli.
This is just as the name implies, simple sautéed broccoli. Peeling the tough outer layer from the stems reveals the tender stalk. Quickly sautéed and finished with butter for a delicious side dish to a steak or piece of fish.
